As a department of the @EuropeanCommission, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) plays a key role at multiple stages of the policy cycle. We work closely with other Commission departments, #EU institutions and agencies, as well as with scientific partners and policy organisations in Europe and internationally. The #JRC offers scientific expertise and competences from a very wide range of #scientific disciplines in support of almost all EU #policy areas.

Interview to Patricia Pla, scientific & technical officer on Nuclear Safety
Patricia Pla Freixa, scientific & technical officer on Nuclear Safety at the Joint Research Centre, explains the collaboration between the group of Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System (GDACS) inside the European Crisis Management Laboratory (ECML) and the nuclear group REMON (Radioactivity Environmental Monitoring and Emergency Preparedness and Response).
GDACS group is dealing with natural hazards worldwide and REMON group can provide to GDACS technical and scientific support in case of a nuclear crisis originated by a natural hazard.

Hello EU! I went to the Expo on its last two days in October. As a scholar of the European Union, I was devastated that I did not get a chance to visit the EU Pavilion (it closed earlier than I was anticipating.).
